Becoming a Member
If you have an interest in
Astronomy, Cosmology, Space – or just have an interest in the night sky –
and want to meet like-minded people then please contact us. New members are
welcome, whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced observer.
You don’t need to own a telescope.
Membership is open to current employees
(or retirees) on the Cody Technology park in Farnborough, site of
QinetiQ.
In addition the society has been given approval
to offer membership to a limited number of the general public.
(Unfortunately membership cannot be offered to non-UK citizens or
children less than 16 years of age because of limitations on the issue
of site passes.).

Our subscription year runs from
September, but new members may join at any time. A
copy of the Society Constitution and Rules can be found
here.
Membership
Full membership allows attendance by one
person at all meetings, the right to take part in annual general meetings,
loan of books, notification of and participation in, any special events such
as visits. Full membership also allows access and use of
the society telescope/observatory, subject to a satisfactory training period
and at the discretion of the Committee
